Alan Pollack Alan Pollack is a licensed California real estate broker since 2001, president of Delta Investment Group, Inc. of San Clemente, CA and a former registered representative in the securities sector. Prior to the market down turn of 2008, Mr. Pollack specialized in commercial, NNN, and Tenants-in-Common (TIC) participating in over $50 million of placements. Beginning in 2003 he provided 1031 safe harbor parking strategies as well as providing life style change and estate planning strategies for his clients. His strategies are equally well suited for retirement portfolio balancing of self-directed IRA/401k into passive real estate investing.

During the 2009-10 market change, Mr. Pollack has provided a transparent and equitable process of bringing off-market, unlisted distressed assets to the public market. He works with direct buyers, funds, and REIT's to acquire discounted commercial and asset pools and has tracked nearly one billion of distressed assets in 2010. His analytical tools include Strike Point Calculator© and Monthly IRR© for profit and risk calculations. Alan is a member of the San Diego Board of Realtors® (SDAR), National Board of Realtors (NAR), Realtor®, completed several courses with the CCIM Institute, and is a member of several local, regional, and national exchange organizations. Mr. Pollack has recently been appointed to the advisory board of the Commercial Real Estate Distressed Asset Association (CREDAA), co-chair of the associations Education Committee, and contributor to the association's certification and designation committee. Alan received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and postgraduate studies at LaSalle University, Pasadena, CA. He resides in San Clemente, CA. Goal Setting versus Goal Achievement

JPMorgan Got Off Easy: Why The Settlement Is Not Justice

The Justice Department, along with federal and state partners, announced this week a $13 billion settlement with JPMorgan - the largest settlement with a single entity in American history.   This settlement brings to a resolution the federal and state civil claims arising out of the packaging, marketing, sale and issuance of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) by JPMorgan, Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual prior to Jan. 1, 2009. I know that there are many politicians who are happy that the Justice Department settled with JP Morgan.    I am disappointed, though, with all the statements in the press release from the various District Attorneys who are claiming victory and that justice has finally been done.   It is ridiculous and it is politics as usual.   Am I alone here?   Have we lost our minds as a country?   How is this a day of celebration?   The fact that this settlement represents the largest settlement with a single entity...
