The Power Is Now - Just Do it

Good morning and welcome to Monday. We all have heard the slogan “Just do it” by Nike.  It’s a great slogan for Nike but it really fails to communicate the sense of urgency that we need in order to achieve our full potential.  The slogan “Just do it” lacks what I consider to be the most critical element in anything we set out to accomplish, and that element is time. You see, “Just do it” fails to communicate when we are going to do it?   Are we going to do it tomorrow, next week or today?  When are we going to do it?

The phrase “The Power Is Now”  adds the element of time and recognizes the authority and the power we possess to act now.  The Power is within us and we are in control of our time.  Our Power Is Now.  My Power Is now and your Power Is Now!  The word N.O.W2 is an acrostic.  “Now” to the second power symbolizes the momentum building power of doing anything now and creating a sense of urgency about it.  The acrostic means New Opportunities Won’t Wait (w2). It is an axiom that we all have experienced every time we gain a new client relationship because of our commitment to service, and follow-up. We have experienced it when we have received a listing or buyer because the competition failed to act with a sense of urgency and could not deliver.  We have experienced it when we have received a sales opportunity because we followed up on a client lead or referral.  We have experienced it when we create and follow sound business and project plans with a sense of urgency.

The word NOW is an adverb. An adverb is a part of speech which modifies or limits a verb.  In the case of our theme it is modifying the verb.  Webster defines NOW as “at the present time” or “without delay”.  For example: “it is vital we act now”.  The Power Is N.O.W2.  New Opportunities Won’t Wait, because there will always be someone who will "Just Do It" N.O.W2 and not later and they are our competition. Just like time, new opportunities keep moving and do not wait for anyone.  Let us work with a sense of urgency and hold ourselves accountable for today’s task.  Stare procrastination in the face and say no to later and yes to NOW.  Tomorrow will take care of itself.

The Power Is N.O.W2 because new opportunities won’t wait. Embrace it and then ask yourself at the end of each day “have I done all I can do today? Am I operating in My Power to do it NOW?  Do I believe the Power Is N.O.W?   Let’s us focus on what is driving us each day to do it NOW as we manage our business and establish new relationships in the marketplace.   Your Power Is NOW because The Power Is N.O.W2 so just Do It NOW!
