HOME-OWNERSHIP

Home-ownership brings stability to individuals and families who have never had anything that they could really call their own.  There is something special about real estate that is unlike anything else on earth you can possess. Real Estate is not like a car that will decay over time and you have to replace.
Real Estate you own is not like your clothes that go out of style and you have to buy new ones.
Real Estate you own is not like expensive vacations or experiences that only last a moment in time. 
Real Estate you own is not like an apartment that the landlord may sell or increase the rent until it is unaffordable.  
Real Estate you own is not like staying at your parents house where you know you can't stay forever.  

Home-ownership is the essence of wealth that has nothing to do with money.
Home-ownership is the essence of pride of a mother nurturer and a father provider.
Home-ownership is the essence of permanence and a place you can raise your family from children to adulthood.
Home-ownership is the essence of being able to build memories that can never be taken from you. Etched in walls and concrete.
Howe-ownership is the essence of you - your style, your colors, your smell, your stuff, your junk, your memories, your yard and your spaces.

It's the height markers on your first child's bedroom wall.  
It’s the hearts drawn in the concrete slabs when you pour your patio.
It's the birthday parties, and anniversaries in the living room and kitchen.
It's the back yard barbecue with friends, neighbors and family.
It's the high school and college graduation, and wedding receptions.
It’s the family nights and block parties because everybody knows each other.

Home.  It's more than real estate.  It's more than money.  It's more than the debt you get in to buy it.  It's more than the payments you make to own it. It's more than the appreciation that comes with keeping it over time.  It's memories, it's family, it's life that can happen in one place until you say it's time to move.

Imagine that you're a borrower with a credit score of 580 or worst yet no credit at all.  You have what the Lenders call alternative credit (rent, utilities, cable & phone bill and etc.).  You are employed with a qualified debt to income ratio and have saved a down payment of at least 3.5% and maybe some of your closing cost. Goal Setting versus Goal Achievement

As a Coach and a Sales Manager I enjoy working with goal achievers.  They excite me and make me better as a coach and a manager.  I desire to be around them and welcome opportunities to conduct joint sales calls.  There are goal achievers in every office and you know them immediately when you meet them or you know them by their incredible productivity.  These special people take the goals that have been given to them or that they have set for themselves very seriously.  It’s a matter of pride and professionalism to achieve their goals.   They are like Samurai warriors who live the code of “death before dishonor”.  Goal Setters on the other hand are also great people but all they do is talk about what they are going to do and never get to it.  They are experts in coming up with excuses about why they fail and are unable to achieve the goals they set for themselves or the goals assigned to them.     My goal in working ...

JPMorgan Got Off Easy: Why The Settlement Is Not Justice

The Justice Department, along with federal and state partners, announced this week a $13 billion settlement with JPMorgan - the largest settlement with a single entity in American history.   This settlement brings to a resolution the federal and state civil claims arising out of the packaging, marketing, sale and issuance of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) by JPMorgan, Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual prior to Jan. 1, 2009. I know that there are many politicians who are happy that the Justice Department settled with JP Morgan.    I am disappointed, though, with all the statements in the press release from the various District Attorneys who are claiming victory and that justice has finally been done.   It is ridiculous and it is politics as usual.   Am I alone here?   Have we lost our minds as a country?   How is this a day of celebration?   The fact that this settlement represents the largest settlement with a single entity...
